Position Summary

Motlow State Community College is seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach day and evening classes in Biology. Adjunct Faculty are part-time temporary Instructors who may teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester and are hired on a per semester basis.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to provide quality instruction for the students.
In addition to teaching, the minimum faculty responsibilities to the college include the following: preparing course materials, preparing course outlines, reporting attendance at the beginning of the semester, and submitting grades at the end of the semester. Adjunct Instructors are also responsible for making students aware of academic resources such as tutors, writing centers, Smarthinking, The Student Success Center, completion coaches, etc.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours from an accredited institution in Biology.

Preferred Qualifications

Pay Rate $450-650 per equated hour depending on the number of semesters or credit hours taught.
