Position Summary

The Programmer/Analyst II performs with minimal supervision those duties involved in the design, programming, implementation and maintenance of administrative computer applications on Banner on Sun Solaris. Duties include consulting with users on designing and implementing solutions to problems and training users on the use of the systems.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Programming/Analysis

• Install, test, and maintain new releases and updates of the administrative and academic software systems.
• Write, modify, test, and document complex reports.
• Develop and maintain reports required from the administrative and academic software systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation for the administrative and academic software systems.
• Assist TBR and/or vendors in troubleshooting programming issues.
• With minimal supervision, design, write, install, document and test new systems as required.
• Confer with end-users on computing needs.

• Document Banner table relationships to assist end-users with report writing and troubleshooting.
• Foster interaction among functional users across all Banner modules.
• Maintain strong customer service orientation.

Miscellaneous

• Provide training to user departments on the use of administrative and academic software systems.
• Ensure audit guidelines are being followed.
• Other associated duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or Associate’s Degree with three (3) years full-time work experience in a computer related field to include computer programming and/or computer instruction.
