Position Summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College is a comprehensive, multicultural, public, open—access college. Southwest began operation on July 1, 2000, through legislation that consolidated Shelby State Community College and State Technical Institute at Memphis. Southwest has 6 campuses/centers from which it offers over 100 programs and over 20 technical certificate programs. We foster student success, transform lives, and increase the educational level of a diverse community in Shelby and Fayette counties. Southwest is a Tennessee Board of Regents institution, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Transcript Analyst is responsible for evaluating incoming college transcripts.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics
  • Knowledge of database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software. * Demonstrated organizational skills and experience in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manual; must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from large groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and interpret statistical information.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
