Position Title Computer Laboratory Assistant (Work Study)

Position Summary

The work study student will work under close supervision of Client Services Manager. The student is expected to provide computer laboratory assistance and perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures that labs have all the necessary supplies for printers, whiteboards, equipment, etc.

Inspects all computer labs for cleanliness and readiness for the class sessions.

Notifies supervisor of any equipment failures or additional needs for effective lab operation.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Only students who have received an award for federal work study can apply for this position.

Willingness to learn how to repair, maintain and install computer equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics

Basic knowledge of computer operations.

Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.

Develop solutions to problems that occur in computer operations.

Ability to lift 50lbs.

Ability to move, load and unload computer equipment.

Ability to maintain work schedules.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to work independently, take verbal or written instructions and follow directions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, campus community, and public.
