Position Summary

The purpose of this job is to provide leadership, development, management, and administration of the Student Affairs division.

This position is open until filled. Applications should be submitted by December 15th in order to be reviewed by the committee.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

40% Provide leadership, direction, and budgetary oversight of the Student Affairs Division. Lead strategic planning efforts for Student Affairs. Make executive-level decisions related to Student Affairs—within the Division and relative to the other divisions within the College. The Student Affairs Division includes Enrollment Services (Admissions and Records, the Communication Center, Financial Aid, and Placement Testing), Access and Diversity, Advising, New Student Orientation, Counseling, Disability Services, Student Support Services (TRiO), Placement, Student Life and Recreation, Student Conduct, Veterans Services, and administration of student services at the colleges’ four site campuses.

20% Work with departments in Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Information Services, Administration and Finance, and College Advancement to develop policies, procedures, and guidelines that support the student enrollment process and aid in student success and completion.

20% Serve on the president’s cabinet and on President’s Council. Review and revise college policies related to Student Affairs. Recommend new policies, as needed.

5% Serve on Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Student Affairs Subcouncil and attend quarterly meetings. Serve on TBR subcommittees, as needed.

10% Ensure Student Affairs Division is compliant with federal and state laws and with accreditation requirements from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

5% Plan and implement the college’s commencement ceremonies.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in an education-related field
• Eight years’ of full-time work experience in student affairs and/or student services with increasing responsibilities (Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)

• Must be able to gain employee buy-in for new ideas and changes.
• Must be able to lead strategic planning efforts for the Student Affairs Division.
• Must be able to utilize Self-Service and Internet Native instances of Banner (student database).
• Must be able to utilize the following Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Must be able to write letters, reports, email messages and other documents utilizing correct grammar.

Pay Rate $89,510-$114,230.00/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application including the Beginning and Ending Dates.
